FY11 is the second year of the biennium.

Proposed Percent Change 3 Proposal 3 Notes
Funding based on enrollment. The Early Childhood and Pre-Kindergarten Initiative is funded through the school funding formula, and is projected to increase by $20 million for a total of $705 million.

The FY10-11 biennial budget proposal, made in 2009, flat funds the Prekindergarten Early Start Grant Program and the Texas School Ready program at $91.8 million and $7.5 million, respectively. Under the enacted budget, FY11 funding for these programs is $104.3 million and $7.5 million, respectively.
Enrollment in the Early Childhood and Pre-Kindergarten Initiative is expected to increase by more than 5,600 children.
